I offer a modern approach to collecting art, combining passion and expertise with trust and transparency to create a bespoke service offering independent advice to collectors in the global market place.


FLEXIBLE AND PERSONALISED

 

I offer my clients a unique, personalised service, with an approach that is both flexible and creative.

After many years working at the highest level in the auction world and for a commercial gallery, I have chosen not to operate from a gallery or to participate in art fairs and so I am free to travel wherever I need to and pursue whatever projects I chose to. I have more time to dedicate to visiting clients across the globe, sharing their passion for art, listening closely to their needs and providing whatever service they require thanks to an extensive worldwide network of contacts that I have developed during my 20 years in the market.

I only work with a small group of clients at any one time. Each collector is unique and every acquisition is different and I offer a bespoke service that accommodates these differences. With the simplified, streamlined structure of my company, I can adapt with speed and versatility to the needs of the client and create a boutique, tailored service for them.


TRUST AND TRANSPARENCY

To many collectors, both new and established, the art market can seem an opaque, unregulated world. This perception is particularly true of the Old Master world, which can sometimes appear unwelcoming and inaccessible, complicated by seemingly complex considerations such as attribution, condition, provenance and pricing. My approach is to offer a complete service, guiding collectors through every step of the process. This comprehensive service also includes advice on issues such as shipping, framing, installation and lighting.

Critical in this process is establishing a relationship based on trust and transparency. I work with collectors who can fully trust my knowledge of the art itself and my in-depth understanding of the art market. This trust is complemented by a policy of transparency   in disclosing all information pertaining to the artwork itself and in operating with a clear and fair commission structure. I always make it clear which party I am representing in any transaction.

It is through this combination of trust and transparency that I am able offer independent, objective advice to clients and thereby give them the reassurance they need in buying or selling art. It is my experience that this also makes every transaction a positive and enjoyable experience.


DISCRETION AND DUE DILIGENCE

I operate to the highest level of due diligence and consider it the cornerstone of my business. This service includes several elements incorporated in an individual report on each artwork: in-depth research of the art work from the points of view of attribution and condition; investigation into the provenance and market history of the artwork; and analysis of the value of the artwork thanks to my understanding of the marketplace, such that I can buy or sell at the best price to the client.

I understand that discretion can be of great importance to some clients. I can represent collectors with confidentiality, acting as an agent whether selling at auction, to a dealer, or through private treaty sale. When clients are looking to buy art, I can conduct all research and negotiations with the same privacy.
